About
Experienced Family Law Attorney
Sangeetha Mallavarapu has practiced law in Colorado since 2010. After practicing employment and general civil litigation for almost four years at two large Denver-based firms, Sangeetha felt compelled to transition to family law in 2014 after having gone through some family law issues herself. With her educational background in Psychology, Sangeetha is well-suited to family law. Her emotional intelligence and creativity allow her to provide thoughtful guidance to clients when they need to move forward from perhaps the most difficult times in their lives.
Judicial Officer Experience
In addition to her many years of experience as a litigator, Sangeetha also served as a magistrate (judicial officer) in Boulder County District Court in an exclusively family law docket. While Sangeetha stepped away from this to tend to her young children, she will bring the dual perspectives of both an attorney and a judge to your case to help you reach a resolution that is in your best interests as well as your family’s long-term well-being. Her ability to counsel clients away from unreasonable positions and work with the opposing counsel or opposing party collaboratively typically results in her clients being able to settle disputed issues before they end up in court. However, should your case be forced into a contested hearing, Sangeetha has the experience and knowledge to be your strongest advocate before the judge. Not only is Sangeetha quick on her feet in the courtroom, but she knows how judicial officers think and what they look for when making decisions. She will use her skills to put you in the best position to achieve an outcome that is in your best interests.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Sangeetha also is well versed in Alternative Dispute Resolution. She takes Collaborative Law cases and does Mediations and Arbitrations. A parent herself, Sangeetha helps other parents keep their child custody disputes out of court by acting as a Parenting Coordinator/ Decision-Maker (“PC/DM”). Sangeetha also has a special interest in advocating for the best interests of children and can act as a Child’s Legal Representative (“CLR”).
Sangeetha lives in Boulder, CO with her husband and two young children who keep her very busy. When she gets a chance, Sangeetha plays the piano, flute, skis, and does ballroom dancing with her husband on the rare date night.
